General Patton Part II Essay Research Paper
In the second part of the movie, we not only see General Pattonβs personality, but the way he treats the military personnel. When he entered the barracks, he gave strict rules and guidelines to follow to the soldiers. They should not have any pictures nor decorations hanging on the wall as it could be a distraction in the future. Then, he enters the hospital, where he told the doctor to literally βdumpβ the people who were in serious injury. He stated that the fatigued people could not fight in his army. To Colonel Patton, it is crucial to wear a helmet. βEverywhere you go is a hard-hat areaβ is a quote that seems to revolve around him since we could be caught up into a surprise attack or war at anytime.
U.S. Army officer George Smith Patton looks like an outstanding practitioner of mobile tank warfare in the European and Mediterranean theatres during World War II. He can spot tanks and arsenal from far away and plan his tactics quick. He uses strict discipline, toughness, and self-sacrifice to get the most of his people. We saw many awards and medals on his uniform showing his accomplishments and successes in missions. He showed a stern image with a black whip and gloves in his hand, ready to discipline anyone who disobeys him. His personality shows why he led the United States to many victories. He acts as a natural born leader and it comes to no doubt in my mine why he contributed to the ending of World War II.
