Omsk State Medical Academy.

    Russian Federation has always been a leader in world medical education. There are more than 40 medical academies, universities and intuitions.

    Omsk State Medical Academy (OSMA) was founded as the Medical Faculty of Siberian Institute of Veterinary and Zoology in 1920; the faculty was reorganized into the West-Siberian State Medical Institute in 1921. It was renamed into Omsk State Medical Institute in 1925 and into Omsk State Medical Academy in 1994. Now more than 40 000 graduates of OSMA are working as doctors in our country and abroad. At the moment over 4500 students are studying at 5 faculties: Medical, Pediatric, Stomatological, Pharmaceutical and the Faculty of Preventive Medicine.

    OSMA was engaged in TEMPUS IV Project. Tempus is the European Union programme which supports the modernization of higher education.

    67 Chairs provide the teaching process in the Academy. 73% of the staff has academic degree. They innovative work has shaped many of the Academy’s most successful courses and programs.

   Omsk State Medical Academy occupies six buildings and has three hostels providing accommodation for all out-of-town students. Clinical Departments and Chairs of the Academy are based in the largest municipal hospitals equipped with modern diagnostic facilities.

    It has over 600 000 volumes in the collections and many unique publications are among them. The library has fully equipped computer hall with the Internet access.   And the Academy’s library is the largest one among the medical institutions of Russia. Physical training is an integral of the curriculum. Well-equipped gyms, ski-centre, a sport and recreation centers are available for the students.

    Омская Государственная  Медицинская Академия (ОмГМА) была основана как Медицинский Факультет Сибирского Института Ветеринарии и Зоологии в 1920г.; факультет был переорганизован в Западно-сибирский Государственный Медицинский Институт в 1921г. После был переименован в Омский Государственный Медицинский Институт в 1925г. И в ОмГМА в 1994г. Сейчас более 40 000 выпускников из ОмГМА работают докторами в нашей стране и заграницей. На данный момент более 4500 студентов учатся по 5 факультетам: Лечебное дело, Педиатрия, Стоматология, Фармацевтия и Медико-Профилактическйи факультет .

    ОмГМА был включён в проект TEMPUS IV. Темпус это программа Европейского союза, которая поддерживает модернизацию высшего образования.

   67 кафедр обеспечивают  учебный процесс в академии. 73% рабочего персонала имеют академическую  степень. Их инновационная работа  в Академии сформировала успешные  курсы и программы обучения.

    ОмГМА занимает шесть зданий и три общежития, предоставляющие жильё для всех студентов, живущих вне города. Медицинские отделения и кафедры академии основаны в крупнейших муниципальных больницах оснащённые современными диогнастическими средствами.

    Библиотека академии является самой крупной среди медицинских учреждений России. Она имеет более чем 600 000 томов в коллекции и много уникальных изданий среди них. Библиотека полностью оборудована компьютерным залом с доступом в Интернет. Физическая культура является неотъемлемой частью учебной программы. Хорошо оборудованные тренажерные залы, лыжный центр, физкультурно-оздоровительных комплексов доступны для студентов.
